Big boy
We had a doctor's visit today -- our first since May. Oscar weighed in at 16 pounds, 4 ounces and now measures 25.5 inches. Dr. Sussman pronounced him "Super." He's put on nearly four pounds in the past two months and grown an inch-and-a-half. Since birth, he's more than doubled his weight and grown almost five inches.
He's drooling a lot these days, which suggests his teeth might be starting to come in. We're not certain about this -- it's still on the early side, but he's also been putting his fingers in his mouth a lot, feeling warm and crying inconsolably from time to time these last few days. Teething, we've learned, comes in waves from four months to three years, and can turn perfect little angels into wailing banshees. So having ducked the colic, we now have a new bogeyman to worry about. For the moment, he remains a pure delight -- about 99% of the time, anyway.
